We are currently experiencing a huge volume of calls in relation to the COVID Vaccine. At this point we are unable to give any firm information. We respectfully request that patients wait until we are able to contact you. Please see below the latest news from our Health Board.
The constraint in delivery is vaccine supply, but this will increase dramatically in coming weeks. The Health Board target is to vaccinate all of those aged over 70 as well as the shielded population and all frontline health and social care workers, care home workers and residents by Mid-February.
The public hunger for the vaccine is understandable, but we will need the public to be patient as this is a mammoth task.

A message from Hereford Road Surgery
Throughout this Coronavirus pandemic we have always been open and accessible to our patients and will continue to do so but some of the ways we do things have changed and will continue to change. During this unprecedented situation Dr Huw Williams and his team have been adapting the service that is provided to over 4000 patients by offering a range of services remotely, either by telephone and/or video consultation. Patients who need to be seen are still being offered face to face appointments with our clinical staff, with strict protective rules in place to ensure that both staff and patients are protected as much as possible. All our staff are trained in relevant infection prevention and control guidance.
In addition we have made changes to the way we interact with our patients. In order to minimise the number of face-to-face contact that a patient requires we are now able to offer email communication and have introduced a new service called eConsult which allows patient’s access to a GP for non-urgent matters. This facility is available to all patients via the link above and will ensure that a response is received within 48 hours.
We are still referring patients to secondary care and we have now been advised that private appointments are now able to go ahead.
As capacity allows, our practice will proactively address health needs that may have gone unmet, including health inequalities and mental health issues. Patients will be involved in all decisions about their care.
We remain extremely vigilant and cannot be complacent. Our strict rule of not allowing patients with symptoms of Coronavirus remain in place with patients advised to telephone the surgery for advice if they are displaying any of the well-publicised symptoms.
Our team would like to thank all our patients for their understanding during this challenging time. We have had many messages of support and kindness from our patients which has been very much appreciated.
Thank you for your continued support.
